There are four wards at Royal South Hants Hospital:
- Upper Brambles Ward
- Lower Brambles Ward
- Kingsland Ward
- Fanshawe Ward
These wards provide short-term rehabilitation. Nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians and speech and language therapists work as part of a team with the aim of getting patients as independent as possible. Patients only remain in the wards for as long as they need inpatient care. The average stay in these wards is between three and six weeks.
There are no long-stay beds at the hospital. We provide short-term rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation
Following a full assessment by the whole team, we will meet with you and any family and friends you want to include. Together we will plan your individual programme of rehabilitation and treatment.
Our aim is to enable you to be independent enough to leave hospital after your illness or injury and to give you the confidence you need to look after yourself when you return to the community.
