NHS South Central, which covers Oxfordshire, Berkshire,
Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, has invested £6.8
million since January 2009 to improve the availability of same-sex
accommodation in local hospitals.
An important part of providing good privacy and dignity to patients is
the availability of same sex facilities.
we are determined to improve our patient experiences by placing the
same importance on patient care as we do on surgical treatment.
What we do at Royal South Hants
- Respect patients' and clients' diversity and cultural needs
- Be compassionate when a patient or their relatives needs emotional
support, rather than just delivering technical nursing care
- Demonstrate sensitivity to patients' needs, making all efforts to ensure their comfort
- Keep patients informed at all times of the progress of their treatment to enable them to make decisions about their care.
